Lo Studio Trisorio inaugura la nuova stagione espositiva sabato 10 ottobre 2015, alle ore 11,00, con una personale di Rebecca Horn.
Artista fra le più versatili e creative del nostro tempo, Rebecca Horn utilizza diversi linguaggi: installazione, scultura, performance, pittura, film e poesia.
Nel corso degli ultimi quattro decenni il suo lavoro si è sviluppato unendo la riflessione su questioni metafisiche e un profondo desiderio di comprendere l’esistenza umana.
La sua ultima volta allo Studio Trisorio di Napoli è stata nel 2012 quando – dopo 10 anni esatti dall’installazione Spiriti di madreperla in Piazza del Plebiscito – è tornata a ripensare, con la mostra Capuzzelle, ai temi della rinascita, della reciprocità fra la dimensione della vita e quella della morte. Le “capuzzelle” (teschi in ghisa) hanno continuato ad accompagnare il suo lavoro per molti anni e in diversi musei, a Berlino, Nuova Delhi, Maribor, Mosca, fino alla recente mostra della Llotja a Palma di Maiorca.
Per la mostra di Napoli saranno presentate sculture e disegni legati alla poesia, come Vertebra Oracle for the future. Sarà in mostra anche la grande scultura Revelation of a Tree: rami in bronzo, attraverso estensioni meccaniche, convergono nel centro di energia dell’albero.
Rebecca Horn sarà presente all’inaugurazione.
La mostra si potrà visitare fino al 31 dicembre 2015 – PROROGATA al 16 gennaio 2016
Biografia
Rebecca Horn ha presentato le sue prime grandi performance a Documenta 5 di Kassel (1972), e da allora le sue opere sono state esposte in numerose mostre personali, presso importanti musei internazionali, come le grandi retrospettive al Guggenheim Museum di New York (1993), alla Tate Gallery Londra (1994), alla Nationalgalerie di Berlino (1994), al Martin-Gropius-Bau di Berlino (2006), presso il Museo d’Arte Contemporanea di Tokyo (2009) e il Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil a Rio de Janeiro e San Paolo (2010). Per il suo lavoro, Rebecca Horn ha ricevuto molti premi e riconoscimenti, tra i quali il Barnett e Annalee Newman Award (2004), il Praemium Imperiale, (Tokyo) e lo Hessischer Kulturpreis (entrambi 2010), la Grande Médaille des Arts Plastiques (Parigi 2011). Nel 2010 ha fondato la Fondazione Moontower.
Ha realizzato i film: Der Eintänzer (1978), La Ferdinanda – Sonate für eine Medici Villa (1981), Buster’s Bedroom (1990), Cutting Through the Past (1995), e Moon Mirror Journey (2012). Nel 2008 ha diretto e disegnato le scene e i costumi dell’opera Luci mie traditrici di Salvatore Sciarrino per il Festival di Salisburgo. In Italia sue installazioni sono in collezione permanente presso il museo MADRE di Napoli e presso il Castello di Rivoli.
Studio Trisorio, located in via Riviera di Chiaia 215 in Naples, is scheduled to inaugurate its new season of exhibits on Saturday, 10 October, 2015, at 11.00 a.m. with Rebecca Horn.
One of the most versatile and inventive artists of our time, Rebecca Horn works across a range of media, including sculpture, installations, performances, painting, film and poetry.
Over the last four decades, she has produced a highly complex oeuvre that is grounded and bound together by an ongoing meditation on metaphysical issues and a deep existential desire.
Rebecca Horn’s last exhibit at the Studio Trisorio in Naples was in 2012 when – exactly 10 years after her Spiriti di madreperla installation in Piazza del Plebiscito – she returned with her Capuzzelle exhibit to re-contemplate the themes of rebirth, and the reciprocity between the dimensions of life and death. The “capuzzelle” (cast iron skulls), which have accompanied her work for many years and to many different museums in Berlin, New Delhi, Maribor and Moscow. Most recently also at La Llotja in Palma de Mallorca.
In her exhibition in Napoli will be presented skulptures and drawings related to poetry as a Vertebra Oracle for the future.
Part of the show is also a large-scale sculpture Revelation of a Tree. Casting branches center through their moving antennas the new energy point of the tree.
Rebecca Horn will be present at the inauguration.
Biography
Rebecca Horn presented her first important performances at the 1972 Documenta 5 in Kassel and her works have been shown in numerous solo exhibits, such as the large retrospective showings at the Guggenheim Museum in New York (1993), the Tate Gallery in London (1994), the Nationalgalerie in Berlin (1994), the Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin (2006), the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo (2009) and the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil in Rio de Janeiro and in San Paolo (2010). Rebecca Horn has received numerous awards and official recognitions including the Barnett and Annalee Newman Award (2004), the Praemium Imperiale, (Tokyo) and the Hessischer Kulturpreis (both in 2010) and the Grande Médaille des Arts Plastiques (Paris 2011). In 2010, she established the Moontower Foundation.
The artist has produced the following films: Der Eintänzer (1978), La Ferdinanda – Sonate für eine Medici Villa (1981), Buster’s Bedroom (1990), Cutting Through the Past (1995) and Moon Mirror Journey (2012). In 2008, she directed and designed the set and the costumes for Salvatore Sciarrino’s Luci mie traditrici (My Treacherous Eyes) at the Salzburg Festival. In Italy her installations are part of the permanent collections of the MADRE Museum in Naples and at the Castello di Rivoli.
